What is the Wayne Library Alliance (WLA)?
The Wayne Library Alliance (WLA) is a Federated Library System made up of seven autonomous public libraries in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, dedicated to providing library and informational services for all residents of the county and the surrounding areas. With a focus on promoting, developing, and improving access to free digital resources, the system aims to support online learning and entertainment for the community.
The WLA is overseen by a board of local library officials who manage the shared resources and provide system-wide services to the seven member libraries. Based upon the Pennsylvania Library Statute 24 PA, public libraries in Pennsylvania are locally governed, including those that are members of federated library systems. While member libraries may share resources and some system-wide policies, they remain autonomous and have the authority to make their own decisions regarding local library policies and programs.

What Resources do the Member Libraries Share?
Resources shared between our member libraries include an online catalog system, eBook and e-Audiobook lending, inter and intra county materials delivery service, online educational resources, and more. Purchasing these resources as a group helps reduce costs for member libraries. It is our belief that access to free information increases knowledge, supports our local school districts, provides a resource for lifelong learning, strengthens the community and improves lives. We invite you to visit the library of your choice!
We Rely on Your Support
While our member libraries receive limited funding from the state of Pennsylvania and Wayne County, they rely on fundraising, grants, and donations from our patrons in order to provide optimum service for Wayne County residents.
