Reading opens the world to all!

Did you know that Newfoundland Library, is presently featuring a new author of young adult historical fiction? Robert "Bob" Krenzel, son of Bob and Carol Krenzel of Palmyra Township, is a retired U.S. Army tank officer and a veteran of the Balkans, Iraq, and Afghanistan. During a recent road trip with his family, a disappointing qudiobook to which they were listening prompted Bob to remark, "I could do better than that". His kids replied, well, why don't you?"

Taking up the gauntlet, and drawing upon the knowledge gained in pursuit of degrees in History and Management at Rutgers University and Eastern Connecticut State University, he started work on "This Glorious Cause", the first book in a planned Gideon Hawke series set at the time of the birth of Americn nation. When it was published in April, 2015, he was already working on the second book in the series, "Times That Try Men's Souls"  which debuted in March, 2016. Both books are available on loan at the Library. The third novel in the series, "A Nest of Hornets" is due out in January, 2017 and the fourth installment, "A Constant Thunder" is scheduled for release in the summer of 2017.

As an author, Bob's passion for history and his soldier's perspective inspire us to learn more about our past. We at the library hope that you will join in the Revolution and read these fine novels.
