Friends of Hawley Public Library
The Friends of Hawley Public library is a non-profit goup of citizens who work together to stimulate a greater interest in and use of the library; to acquaint all members of the community with the functions, resources, facilities and needs of the library; to promote and enrich the services of the library; to encourage and administer library gifts, donations and memorials; to coordinate information to the community on issues of library legislation; to sponsor programs designed to add to the cultural life of the communiy; and to ensure the existence of the Hawley Public Library for years to come.
Who are the Friends?
- Friends are people who use the library’s vast resources and services for information and enjoyment.
- Friends realize the value of a good library and its importance to their community.
- Friends want to enhance the library and keep it a valuable resource, responsive to the needs of our community.
What do Friends do?
- Friends help generate support for their library.
- Friends bring a greater awareness of the variety of services the library provides.
- Friends offer financial support through membership dues and fund-raising activities.
- Friends advocate on behalf of the Hawley Public Library
